John Michel(1917-1969)
John Michel, a political communist, was a prevelant contributor to early science fiction pulp magazines. He wrote under the pseudonyms of Hugh Raymond, Edward Bellen, and E. J. Bellen. He wrote "Spokesman for Terra" for Stirring Science Storries, the magazine which Wollheim published in the off months of Cosmic Stories. Michel wrote reviews of science fiction novels, and even did a review on the theme music of Things to Come, an SF film classic. Other stories are "The Man Eating Lizards" and "Dead Man's Tale" in Out of this World Adventures. Also, as Raymond, he wrote "The Year of Uniting" in Science Fiction Quarterly (Winter 1941/42).
