For my Final Project, I chose to focus on the character of Jeannine Dadier in _The Female Man_, mostly because of a Spec that I posted on the course email list.
Many people responded: David / Joyce / Lauren / Marc
...I really appreciated (and learned from) all of the different comments, and I realized that I had to Clarify what I had written in my original message. I was still greatly disturbed / interested in the role of Jeannine in this book, and I was interested in learning a bit about the different views of some feminists.
First Final Project Thoughts: TITLE: Why, Jeanine?
MAJOR QUESTION: How can the character of Jeanine in Russ's Female Man be analyzed / explained using various notions of feminism? Perhaps, why did the author choose to sculpt Jeanine in the way that she did - based on the feminist notions of the author? Perhaps, how does the character of Jeanine compare to other characters created by the author in other works?
